It's never too early to start making plans for March 17

St. Patrick's Day is almost here, bringing with it all the requisite Irish-themed activities: dancing, bagpipes, live music and Guinness and Jameson aplenty. If you're looking to celebrate the holiday in style, visit one of these 11 spots this St. Patrick's Day.

Byrne's Pub
This Grandview dive hosts a two-day tent party on Saturday and Sunday, March 16 and 17, with music from McIans, Mossy, 9 Castle Close, the Drowsy Lads, Rice Brothers and the Prodigals.

Dempsey's Food & Spirits
From its Downtown digs on South High Street, Dempsey's will host a variety of live music throughout St. Patrick's Day, including the San Pats at 11 a.m., McIans at 3 p.m. and Amhrain at 7 p.m.

O'Reilly's Pub
The beloved Clintonville dive is serving special menus throughout the day. From 9 a.m. to noon the pub will be offering breakfast, while from noon to 6 p.m. it will dish out an Irish menu of shepherd's pie, corned beef and cabbage and Irish stew. The regular menu will be offered after 6 p.m. Note that O'Reilly's will be cash-only all day, and alcohol isn't available until 11 a.m.

Fado Irish Pub/Fado Pub & Kitchen
Fado now includes two locations in Columbus: the Irish pub at Easton and the newer Fado Pub & Kitchen at Dublin's Bridge Park. Both spots are homey recreations of Irish pubs, and both will feature two-day block parties culminating on St. Patrick's Day with cocktails, Irish brunch dishes and live music from the Ladies of Longford, Cyril Scott Pipes and other bands.;

Cavan Irish Pub
This Merion Village pub will host its annual kegs and eggs event for St. Patrick's Day. Beer and breakfast eats will start flowing from 7 a.m. The pub features a male revue show at 7 p.m. and drag performances with Mary Nolan and Ava Aurora Foxx at 11 p.m.

Brazenhead Irish Pub
Both the Grandview and the Dublin locations will open early and host a variety of activities over the St. Patrick's Day weekend, from food and drink specials to Irish music, bagpipes and dancing.

Pub Mahone
This Downtown pub serving “American food with an Irish attitude” will open at 8 a.m. on St. Patrick's Day. Bagpipes and dancers will perform from noon to 8 p.m., and the party continues until 2 a.m.

Blarney Stone Tavern
On Saturday, March 16, the Blarney Stone Tavern in Worthington will feature music from the Old Brigade and Chris Logsdon. On St. Patrick's Day itself, the tavern will serve up an Irish breakfast from 9 a.m. to noon, while that evening brings live music from Chad Weyand, Thomas Nance and Stevie Cade.

The Shamrock Club of Columbus
Following the official St. Patrick's Day Parade through Downtown Columbus, the Shamrock Club on the South Side opens at 4 p.m. There's a $5 cover for members and guests. The Schmidt's Sausage Truck will be on site serving dinner from 5-11 p.m., while McIans grace the Upstairs Hall from 8-11 p.m.

Dublin Village Tavern
Located in a building that dates back to the 1880s, this comfortable tavern in Historic Dublin has been a favorite stop for nearly 20 years. The establishment will open at 10 a.m. on Saturday, March 16, and 11 a.m. on Sunday, March 17.

McClellan's Pub
McClellan's on Sawmill Road in Dublin will feature a variety of activities over the St. Patrick's Day weekend, from live music to drink specials.
