One of the city’s longest running food trucks, Sophie’s Gourmet Pierogi, has permanently shuttered after eight years in business. However, owners Stephen and Angela Redzinak announced on social media that they are moving on to a new barbecue venture at Lancaster’s The Smoked Food Factory.
On Tuesday, May 5, select Cameron Mitchell Restaurants and Rusty Bucket Restaurant and Tavern locations will reopen for curbside carryout. (Rusty Bucket will also offer delivery through DoorDash.) Customers may view the abbreviated menus starting today at cameronmitchell.com. The CMR restaurant opening on Tuesday include: The Avenue Steak Tavern (Dublin), The Barn at Rocky Fork Creek, Cap City Fine Diner & Bar’s three locations (Dublin, Gahanna and Grandview),Hudson 29 (Upper Arlington) and Marcella’s two locations (Polaris and Short North). The Rusty Bucket locations that are reopening include those in Bexley, Dublin, New Albany, Upper Arlington and Westerville.
The North Market is now requiring employees and customers to wear masks or face coverings. The rule does not apply to children under 2 years old nor does it apply to individuals who are unable to wear face coverings due to a medical condition. In addition, the North Market has indefinitely postponed its annual fundraising event, the Apron Gala. The event was originally scheduled for May 16.
Bexley’s Newfangled Kitchen (2258 E. Main St.), whose specialty is meatloaf sandwiches, has reopened its doors for prepaid carryout and DoorDash delivery. Customers are asked to wear masks or face coverings when entering the restaurant for pickup. Order online here.
Uptown Westerville's Asterisk Supper Club has reopened for carryout and delivery. Call 614-776-4633 to order. The restaurant is also offering Afternoon Tea for Mother’s Day, a carryout collection of tea sandwiches, scones and desserts. Email firstname.lastname@example.org to pre-order by Tuesday, May 5.
Cosecha Cocina, which has closed temporarily, is reopening on Tuesday, May 5, for a special Cinco de Mayo carryout service. View the menu here.
The Japanese bakery Belle’s Bread (1168 Kenny Centre Mall) resumed operations last week.
The Original Pancake House is back open for carryout at 1633 W. Lane Ave. Delivery is also available via Uber Eats, DoorDash and Grubhub.
