Ashland Regional Ballet (ARB) and Opus II Dance Studio (official school of the Ashland Regional Ballet) will collaborate to present a Dance Concert in the Park at 8 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 12 at the Guy C. Myers Memorial Band Shell at Brookside Park in Ashland. Admission is free. The dancers will present an eclectic program sure to please audience members of all ages.

Appearing in the concert are Ashland Regional Ballet members Megan Abel, Emma Blake, Avery Gingrich, Lucia Mancha, Melanie Irvine-Selby of Ashland; Gabrielle Savka, from Mansfield; Rebecca Brown of Loudonville; Mikayla Jarvis of Wooster; and Erin Ekin of Galion and Abigail Hout of Greenwich. Making their premiere performance as members of ARB are apprentices Gisella Blake, Emma DaHinden, Chloe Gingrich, Ryanne Hunt, Sarah Ison, Audrey Rosby, Anna Slade, Samantha Steinhauser, Lilly Welch and Allie Wentworth of Ashland; Megan Hayes of Mansfield, Jennie Riffle of West Salem, Taylor Hill of Nova and Landon Hyatt of Mohicanville. Appearing as ARB alumna are Ann Marie Benshoff-Todd and Katherine Harrigan.

Joining the company dancers are Opus II students Timora Barnett, Mallory Betson, Kaitlyn Boals, Madyson Brockway, Amelia Brown, Logan Brown, Mirabel Chandler, Naomi Chandner, Selah Chandler, Alanah Cole, Aubrie Cooke, Hayee Cromer, Eva Early, Adley Grabowski, Skylynn Heichel, Teagan Klime, Annie Lavengood, Isabella McArdle, Audrey Mahon, Eleanor Merkel, Jackie Metz, Samantha Metz, Lyla Metzger, Mackie Parsons, Emily Rhine, Madelyn Shenberger and Tara Tavallaee, from Ashland; with Mansfielders Alexa Blakely, Addilyn Bryant, Haley Carpenter, and Samantha Crist; Valerie Raubenolt of Loudonville; Peyton Hyatt of Mohicanville, Megan Harrigan of Nova; Mayson Middaugh, Katherine Stefaniuk, and Marianna Stefaniuk of Polk; and Gordon Ekin of Galion.

Ashland Regional Ballet is under the artistic direction of Sarah Cyders. Opus II Dance Studio is under the direction of School Director Ann Marie Benshoff-Todd. Choreography is by Founder/Executive Director Hellie Schussler; ARB staff/faculty members Sarah Cyders and Ann Marie Benshoff-Todd; and guests ARB alumna Rebekah Brown, and Verb Ballets dancerMichael Escovedo. The directors and staff members have worked together to create a show which not only showcases the dancers’ talents, but is also great family entertainment.

Prior to the performance, the Ashland Regional Ballet Board of Directors will host its annual Picnic in the Park. Picnic food and drinks will be served for a donation on the lawn at the band shell. Donations will be used to help Ashland Regional Ballet cover production costs, commission new choreography, and purchase costumes and supplies.
