The filing, made on Thursday, Feb. 14, comes a week after a report in Alive detailed sexual assault claims made by multiple women against brewery founder Fred Lee

Actual Brewing Company filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy with the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Ohio on Thursday, Feb. 14.

The filing, which lists $500,001-$1M in assets and liabilities, comes a week after Alive reported on multiple women making claims of sexual assault against brewery founder Fred Lee.

Prior to publication of the article, Lee voluntarily stepped down as CEO, replaced by acting CEO Nicole Felter, whose signature appears on the bankruptcy filing.

In the immediate aftermath of publication, multiple business pulled Actual’s beers from the shelves, and the brewer announced its newly opened Clintonville taproom would be “closed until further notice.” The taproom currently remains closed.
