The latest updates from the bar and restaurant scenes

Cleveland’s “non-GMO cafe” Rebol opened this week in Dublin’s Bridge Park at 6608 Longshore St. The new spot caters to healthy lifestyles and special diets (read: Keto), with menu items such as breakfast sandwiches, bowls (or “bols”), bone broths, smoothies and Bulletproof Coffee.

Dulce Vida Ice Cream Factory, which has two locations in Central Ohio, is opening a third in the Short North, according to an announcement on social media. The site has not yet been announced. Dulce Vida offers ice cream as well as Mexican-style desserts and snacks such as paletas, mangonadas, chicharrones and Dorilocos.

The North Market announced its newest vendor this week. The American Nut Co. will take over the vacant stall between Little Eater and North Market Spices. Owner Lisa Robitaille’s business specializes in Bavarian-style glazed and roasted almonds and pecans. Look for the shop to open later this summer.

Hoyo’s Kitchen says its grand opening in the North Market has been delayed. The Somali restaurant seeks to open at the end of the month.

Barrel & Boar BBQ Gastropub opened last week in historic downtown Canal Winchester at 10 S. High St. The new barbecue spot replaces Village Wines and Bistro, which closed in February.

Mark your calendars for Aug. 4-10, when the folks behind 614Tiki will debut Tiki Week. According to 614Tiki’s Instagram post, some of the city’s best cocktail bars will be participating. More details to come.

Cafe Phenix (39 E. Gay St.) has closed and merged with its down-the-street sister restaurant Phenix Bistro at 51 E. Gay St. The European-style cafe, newly dubbed Cafe Phenix Bistro, serves breakfast, lunch and dinner.

The wet summer is making for a lean black walnut harvest; to help Watershed Distillery meet the demand for its popular Nocino, a sweet black walnut liqueur, the distillery is putting out a nutty plea to the community: Are you willing to part with your cache of black walnuts? Some restrictions apply, and you’ll need to be able to gather at least 25 pounds of unripe (green) walnuts. If interested, email Watershed at info@watersheddistillery.com; the last day to drop off nuts is Monday, July 15.
