Camp meeting

Christ United Methodist Church (a Wesleyan Covenant Community), 2167 North Ave., Cambridge, is starting a "new thing" on Sunday evenings at 6 p.m. Each Sunday, there will be a ‘camp meeting,’ which will include praise and worship, special music, testimonies and old time gospel preaching and prayer.  

Guernsey Association of Churches Community Lenten Service

The Guernsey Association of Churches is once again hosting the annual series of evening Community Lenten Services during the season of Lent. The second service will take place Sunday, March 8, at 7 p.m., at Faith United Methodist Church, 500 S. 7th St., Cambridge. The speaker for the evening will be the Rev. Jeff Bergeson from Unity Presbyterian Church. Fellowship and refreshments will follow in the social hall. An elevator is available. The offerings from all of the Lenten Services will be divided between Feed My People, GRACE Pantry, Share & Care, Open Arms Pregnancy Center, and Samaritan Center, with the first 10 percent staying with the GAC for their program and ministry expenses. All are welcome to attend this community service at First Christian Church, located at 1127 Beatty Avenue in Cambridge.

Indoor yard sale

Main Ave. United Methodist Church in Byesville will have an indoor yard sale on March 7, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., at the church. Table rentals are available for $10.

Minnie Mouse Tea Party

Kennonsburg United Methodist Church is hosting a "Minnie Mouse Tea Party" on Saturday, March 21, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., at the church. The event is free and all are welcome. Reservations are recommended. Call Sharon Miller at 740-679-2365 for more information or to make a reservation.

Christ United Methodist Church

Christ United Methodist Church has breakfast fellowship on Sunday at 8:30 a.m., followed by Sunday School for all ages at 9:15 a.m. Worship service begins at 10:15 a.m., with Pastor Randy Weaver bringing the message for both the morning service and for the Children’s message. Evening service is at 6 p.m. with this being the second Sunday of the recently started Camp Meetings. Mike McCauley will bring the message, Hank and Cindy Scheffer will provide special music. The Praise Band will bring praise and worship. We would love to have you join us, if you want to experience an evangelical service where Jesus is lifted up. Calix 12-step program

The Calix Catholic/Christian 12-Step program has a new winter meeting schedule. Meetings will take place every second Wednesday of the month. Dates for meetings are: March 11 and April 8. Meetings are from 7 to 8 p.m., in the basement conference at St. Benedict Church, 701 Gomber Ave. The entrance and parking are handicapped accessible.

The Calix 12-Step program welcomes all who want to more fully develop their spiritual life using the AA/Al-Anon 12 step program in an openly Christian/Catholic environment. Each session starts with a 30 minute DVD presentation, followed by 20 minutes of discussion.

As with all 12 step meetings we commit to strict anonymity of all attendees and are self-supporting through voluntary donations used for supplies. Come to share or just to listen and learn. Everyone is welcome. For more information, call Peggy at 740-260-9519.

Rix Mills Presbyterian Church

Join us this Sunday for worship service on this second Sunday of Lent at 9:30 a.m., with Pastor Jim Gibson bringing the message, "Nicodemus." Scripture is taken from the book of John 3: 1-11. Buffalo-Cumberland Presbyterian Church
