In honor of the living legend's 80th birthday, Stereogum recruited 80 artists (including David Byrne and Lydia Loveless) to write and talk about their favorite Dylan tunes

Bob Dylan turns 80 today, and instead of memorializing the greatest songwriter of all time with words from its talented roster of writers, Stereogum instead decided to track down 80 artists (actually 86 total) and have each one write about (or talk about) their favorite Dylan song. You'll recognize plenty of names in the list: David Byrne (who wrote an entire essay about "Murder Most Foul"), Lydia Loveless, Will Oldham, Jewel, Steve Earle, Kamasi Washington, Joan Armatrading, Ahmed Gallab/Sinkane, Craig Finn, Laura Marling and lots more.

Start chipping away at the feature here. My most-quoted Dylan-ism isn't actually a song; it's his response to the "Judas" accusation (watch below): "I don't belieeeve you." Happy birthday, Bob!
