Food News: Holy Trinity Brewing opens next week; The Lox reopens for dine-in

Openings & Announcements 

Co-owner and head brewer Tim McFeely said Holy Trinity Brewing Co. will open next week Downtown. The new brewery is located at 155 N. Fifth St., adding yet another destination to an area that includes Wolf’s Ridge Brewing, Jackie O’s on Fourth, Slammers and Pins Mechanical Co. The taproom will feature 18 taps, with house brews such as Hazy Jesus New England IPA, Hellfire Rauchbier and She Devil Irish Red. Food trucks will provide the grub.  

The Lox Bagel Shop (772 N. High St., Ste. 106) has reopened its dining room after a protracted pivot to takeout-only because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Earlier this year, The Lox’s bagels were named some of the “Best Bagels in America” by Food & Wine

This week, The Pit BBQ Grille kicked off a temporary stint at Budd Dairy Food Hall’s rotating kitchen, the Hatch. The Pit’s residency at Budd Dairy (1086 N. Fourth St.) will run until mid-February. The Cleveland-style barbecue spot has three other locations: in Clintonville, on the South Side and inside North Market Bridge Park. 

An opening date has been set for the new Southern/soul food restaurant Downtown. LaSalle’s Southern Kitchen & Bar plans to open Jan. 14-16 at 30 S. Young St. Before the grand opening next month, holiday meal pre-orders are being accepted through Dec. 22, and a New Year’s Eve Gala is scheduled for Friday, Dec. 31. Place your order online at lasalleskitchenbar.com

Events 

Land-Grant Brewing is hosting a holiday-themed Matchmakers Market this weekend, featuring local artists, makers, specialty brews and more in the beer garden. The event will take place from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 18 and 19, at 424 W. Town St. in Franklinton. 

Closings 

Pataskala’s Hornets Nest Pizza (6414 Summit Road SW) announced on its website that the pizzeria is closing for good on Saturday, Dec. 18.
