Openings & Announcements

Campus-area Mediterranean eatery Shawerma Bite (12 E. 16th Ave.) has opened a second storefront at 5453 Bethel Sawmill Center, next to La Michoacana market. The casual restaurant offers bowls and pita sandwiches with spit-roasted shawerma (aka shawarma) meat, hummus, veggies and more.

The ice cream sandwich shop S’Wich Social (869 N. Fourth St.) recently made its 2022 debut. We last heard from the Italian Village shop, which specializes in photogenic cookie sandwiches, in December.

Over the weekend, the Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams scoop shop located next to Brown Bag Deli opened for the season. The ice cream window at 900 Mohawk St. in German Village is open for business from noon to 10 p.m. Fridays through Sundays.

Sharecuterie, a local company specializing in everything you need for a perfect charcuterie board, now has a brick-and-mortar location in Powell at 3967 Presidential Pkwy.

The Rossi Kitchen & Bar (895 N. High St.) has added brunch on Saturdays and Sundays. The menu features mimosas, doughnuts, a breakfast sandwich, French toast, a handful of pizzas and more.

Several local bakeries are now accepting special orders for Easter, which is Sunday, April 17. Angie's Rainbow Cookies is accepting Easter orders through April 14 for its signature Italian rainbow cookies and other cookie varieties. Pattcake Bakery is accepting orders for hot-cross buns, lamb cakes and spring-themed cutout cookies, available April 14-17 only. Powell-based Cinnaswirl Bakery is accepting orders for cinnamon rolls, Parker House rolls, braided Easter bread, Italian cookie boxes and more for pickup on April 16. Finally, you can order Easter pies from Ohio Pies through April 13 for pickup on April 15 at Bexley Natural Market.
