Minnesota CBS affiliate WCCO found 1970 footage of Prince as an 11-year-old.

In April of 1970, educators from Minneapolis Public Schools went on strike, and Minnesota CBS affiliate WCCO-TV was there to cover it. Recently, a WCCO production manager went through 13 minutes of restored video from the strike, and when he did, he saw a familiar face.

While the teachers picketed, a reporter interviewed a boy who looked just like legendary Minneapolis musician Prince Nelson. From there, WCCO personnel began searching high and low for anyone who could provide confirmation on the boy's identity.
