Watch "The Great Gatsby" trailer. Beware, head may explode due to excess of shiny things, Leo being hot.

"The Great Gatsby" comes out in theaters in 3D on Christmas. Hello, awesome holiday gift idea. My excitement for this movie has mimicked the path of a glitter-hued snowball. First, the fact that they were making a movie about F. Scott Fitzgerald's best (yeah, I said it) novel "The Great Gatsby" piqued my interest. Then they cast my dream manic pixie dream girl, Carey Mulligan, as the baddest poor little rich girl Daisy Buchanan and Leonardo DiCaprio as the compulsively complicated Jay Gatsby. THEN Tiffany & Co. announced it was creating all the jewelry for the movie. I desire nothing less from a story about the opulence of the Jazz Age. Now, I present to you, guys and dolls, the trailer. The Baz Luhrmann (director of "Moulin Rouge!" and "Romeo + Juliet") aesthetic is obvious (so-unexpected-it's-now-expected music, sweeping grandiose event shots, etc.). "Great Gatsby" will totally make up for Luhrmann making me sit through "Australia." Watch above, darling.

Bonus for lit nerds: Keep your eyes -- ha! -- open for the gorgeous reference to the T.J. Eckleburg billboard. Yay, symbolism!
