Good news: LCD Soundsystem documentary coming to theaters. Bad news: Not in Columbus.

OK, so we all wish we could have been at LCD Soundsystem's notoriously epic 3 1/2-hour farewell show at Madison Square Garden. The documentary "Shut Up and Play the Hits" chronicles that show and its runup.

Currently making the rounds on the film festival circuit, it was announced that the film will get an exclusive "one night only" stint in U.S. theaters on July 18. Great news ... except there aren't any Columbus showings on the current schedule.

On the bright side, the schedule says to check back for additional cities and theaters. This feels like a great fit for Gateway Film Center or maybe even the Wexner Center. And you can also "demand" it to your town using the Eventful gadget on the schedule page here.

Side note: The film is being distributed by Oscilloscope, the film production and distribution company of late Beastie Boys member Adam "MCA" Yauch. Just more proof that he was rad and the world is worse for the loss.
