Local music: Lionel the Jailbird at Rumba Cafe
Swag can’t be taught. You got it or you don’t. Lionel the Jailbird ought to thank their maker.
The young blues-rock band — think Heartless Bastards with a violin, or Joss Stone with talent — exudes the kind of confidence that turns stomping Zeppelin riffage and feathery Hendrix flutters from dorm room cliches into head-turning rock songs. On their self-titled debut album, set for release Friday with a concert at Rumba Cafe, they make a strong bid for your attention.
