Preview: Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros at the LC

Rock critic Rob Harvilla coined the phrase "Instagram folk" to describe She & Him's Christmas album. The term is a perfect fit for "Here," the sophomore LP from Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros, scheduled for release the day before the soft-focus Americana band plays LC Pavilion.

Alex Ebert and company (none of the members is named Edward Sharpe) craft ballads that would feel old and distant even if they weren't filtered through some sort of sonic sepia tone. And while nothing here is as immediately grabbing as breakthrough single "Home," those who found that song grating might discover a lot to like about music this sentimental and warm.

He's My Brother, She's My Sister graduates to amphitheater opening duty for this one.
