Before we get to all the new concert announcements, let me point out that The Walkmen's Sept. 29 appearance at Newport Music Hall has been postponed. Let's get that one rescheduled ASAP.

OK, on with the show...

Psychedelic DJ act Pretty Lights will also be at the LC on Aug. 29, with tickets on sale Friday at 10 as well. $30 advance, $35 day of show.

Henry Rollins brings his spoken word show "Capitalism" to the LC on Oct. 6. Be prepared to exchange $25 or $35 for Rollins' services, beginning Friday at 10 a.m.

Alt-country mainstays Old 97's will be back at Newport Music Hall on Oct. 20. Tickets go on sale Saturday at 10 a.m. for $17 advance, $20 day of show.

The Columbus-affiliated punk showmen of Jon Spencer Blues Explosion, who just busted out a new single today for the first time in eight years, will play The Basement on Oct. 24. (That's the same night as the Morrissey concert nextdoor at LC; what's an aging hipster to do?) Tickets cost $15, and they go on sale Friday at 10 a.m.

Also coming to The Basement: Baltimore experimental pop weirdos Future Islands on July 15. Tickets are on sale now for $10 advance, $12 day of show.
