Nude Beach at Ace of Cups

Anyone interested in classic pop songwriting matched with an approachable amount of punk scruff need look no further than the boisterous jangle pop of Nude Beach.

The Brooklyn band’s new album II, released by taste-making Manhattan record store Other Music’s new label, does not reinvent the wheel in any capacity because this wheel works just fine, thanks. Just like it worked great for The Only Ones, The Nerves, The Jam, The Exploding Hearts and a slew of other amazing back-to-basics garage bands. And if a lead single called “Radio” didn’t tip you off, there’s a distinct Elvis Costello vibe running through these tracks too.

So show up at Ace of Cups on Halloween and have a party, and for God’s sake click away from this preview before your boss thinks you’re reading a porn site.
