Rick Ross at the Schott

God Forgives, I Don’t is not Rick Ross’ finest moment, but the big man’s been busy. Having established himself as rap royalty with a string of bone-crushing hits and many a commanding guest spot, Rozay recently turned his attention to king-making. Every boss needs capos, even bosses whose criminal activity is entirely fictionalized.

Initially, Maybach Music Group’s roster was cause for head-scratching, but considering the MMG Tour that hits the Schott this Friday boasts legitimate stars in helium spaz Meek Mill and conscious-gone-craven rehab project Wale, maybe Ross knew what he was doing. Combined, these guys have as firm a grip on clubs and radio as any empire in rap.

The show has an Ohio connection too, but it’s not what you’d think. Sadly, MMG signee Stalley, who proudly reps Massillon and closely partners with Columbus producer Rashad, is not on this tour. Weirdly, Bad Boy minion/Cleveland resident Machine Gun Kelly rounds out the bill instead.
