Rock on the Range and Nelsonville Music Festival announce 2015 performers
We're only a few weeks away from the official start of winter, so what better time to start making plans for spring?
Recently, two of the area's most well-established music festivals - Rock on the Range and the Nelsonville Music Festival - announced headliners for 2015.
Rock on the Range, which takes place at Crew Stadium May 15-17, features headlining turns from Linkin Park, Slipknot and Judas Priest. Joining the trio are assorted hard rockers (Godsmack, Ministry, etc.), rappers (Yelawolf, Tech N9ne) and one genre-defying band billed far lower on the marquee than warranted by its skillset (the mighty Dillinger Escape Plan).
Tickets for Rock on the Range go on sale to the general public at 10 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 5, and a presale is already underway. Visit columbuscrewsc.com/rotr for more information.
Falling on the far-quieter end of the musical spectrum is the 11th annual Nelsonville Music Festival, a four-day affair presented by Stuart's Opera House and held May 28-31 at Hocking College's Historic Village of Robbins Crossing.
Though the fest has deep folk roots, organizers have consistently cast a wide net, embracing a diverse variety of styles and sounds. It's a trend that's carried over into the 2015 event, which will feature turns from art-rocker St. Vincent, country legend Merle Haggard and jam-folk collective Trampled By Turtles, among others.
Weekend passes are $110, and can be purchased at nelsonvillefest.org.
