Concert preview: Newborn Dayton trio Moira engages in dreamy synth-pop

Andy Downing, Columbus Alive

Little is known about this newborn Dayton crew, aside from the fact that no one in the band is actually named Moira (the trio is actually comprised of Alicia Grodecki - formerly of synth-pop quartet Vanity Theft - Patrick Hague and Aaron Hardy). The music tab on its official site still reads "coming soon," and the "About" section on its Facebook site consists of little more than the names of the band members and an email address. Even so, a handful of posted video snippets colored in dreamy synths suggest this is one Columbus debut worth scoping out. "I know you're not coming home, " Grodecki sings in one teaser, the cool sentiments in her words running counter to the warm, enveloping musical backdrop.

GIMME and the Florals also perform.
