Staff Pick: Frontstage Fest

A late addition to the summer festival lineup, Frontstage Fest packs 16 bands into a single day in the CD102.5 Big Room Bar parking lot on Saturday, Aug. 11.
Headliner the Sidekicks, playing behind the hook-laden, career-bestHappiness Hours, is an obvious highlight, as is indie-rock quartetdidi, which headlines Ace of Cups on Friday, Aug. 10, in support of the local release of its long-in-the-works new album,Like Memory Foam(expected out in wider release later this year on Damnably Records). But don't sleep on a deep undercard that includes bruising MCs (Sam Rothstein,JaySwifa), youthful skuzz-rockers (Radattack, far better than its name) and rarely sighted artists who tend to be can't-miss live (Nick Tolford). Best of all? Tickets are only $10.
