Breakaway Music Festival returns to Mapfre Stadium this year, perhaps for the last time at the Crew SC's home field. Past Breakaway performers include Kendrick Lamar, Twenty One Pilots, Chance the Rapper and Travis Scott, and this year's lineup of EDM, hip-hop and R&B is very on-brand. Here are three 2018 headliners of note.

Migos, Sunday

In aRolling Stone cover story, the magazine claimed that hip-hop trio Migos — Offset, his cousin Quavo, and Quavo's nephew, Takeoff — has “transcended hip-hop to become shapers of culture.” That's thanks, in part, to the group's 2013 hit, “Versace.”

Halsey, Friday

You may know pop singer Halsey best from her collabs with other artists, like “Closer,” her 2016 duet with the Chainsmokers that took over terrestrial radio. Or “Him & I,” a 2017 duet with G-Eazy, who happens to be visiting Express Live the day before Breakaway kicks off. Or “Eastside,” a new single from benny blanco featuring Halsey and fellow Breakaway headliner Khalid.

Khalid, Friday

Aside from an almost-certain collab with Halsey, expect to hear this R&B breakout from El Paso, Texas, perform “Young Dumb & Broke” off last year'sAmerican Teen. “Young, dumb, broke high school kids,” Khalid sings in a sweet, slightly scratched tenor, though “young” is really the only adjective of the bunch that applies to this talented artist.
