Anyway Records, the long-running local label run by Bela Koe-Krompecher, and Don Giovanni Records, the New Jersey label releasing Koe-Krompecher's forthcoming memoir (Love, Death and Photosynthesis), are planning to release a collection of unreleased songs from Columbus songwriter Jenny Mae, who died in 2017.

Today, we get the first taste of the compilation via previously unreleased track "Spit On Your Hand," which Koe-Krompecher describes this way: "This song was recorded for an unreleased third record. It was found on a CDR recently. Played/recorded by Jenny and Chris Squire (I think) in a Boston studio around 2002. It was never finished but Adam Smith did a great job mastering it from the CDR.

For more on Jenny Mae, revisit our 2018 profile of the late Columbus musician who "approached life like an improv skit, filling her days with outrageous humor, beautiful music and an addiction that proved deadly."
